Snow is tricky to photograph. It's very bright and the camera wants to shut down the lens (just like the iris in your eye). But, we can't let it do that...we have to force it to stay open contrary to its natural inclination.
And even when you compensate for the brightness of the snow, it will reflect the color of the sky and any other thing near it and produce completely different looking photographs from minute to minute. Very tricky, I say.
We end up with snow that's white, gray, pink, blue, yellow, peach or purple, depending upon the available light.
