Brisbane and Beyond

The Glass House Mountains can be seen from Maleny.  The mountains were named by Captain James Cook as they reminded him of the glass furnaces in his home county of Yorkshire.

The area surrounding the little town of Maleny, in Queensland, Australia is absolutely beautiful.  As you can see in these photos, it is a lush, hilly land perfect for raising cattle.  At one time, this area was famous for its many dairies.

The Jacaranda trees were in full bloom and a sight to see.  The purple tree in the center of this photo is an example.

Perfectly Palouse, Too

This land, formed by winds long ago, is absolutely breathtaking.

I never cease to be amazed by the quality of workmanship demonstrated by the farmers who cultivate the land in this area.
