The Amazing Palouse

The area just north of the Snake River in Eastern Washington and Central Idaho is known as The Palouse. The land is uncommonly rich and extraordinarily 'bumpy', which provides both promise and challenge to the farmers in that region.  At dawn and dusk, shadows create breathtaking relief, irresistible to photographers.

This photo was taken just before the sun came up.

The Horse Heaven Hills

My favorite place to wander near home is the area known as the Horse Heaven Hills.  When I see clouds coming from the south, it's my cue to head to the 'hills'.  The view from there is 360 degrees...like I'm 'On Top of the World'.

Wenatchee in the Fall

Autumn is my favorite season.  I love the warm, rich colors and cooler, sunny days.   So...I planned one more trip with John Clement...in the fall.  He chose Wenatchee.

We started at 4am and stopped at the Vantage horse sculpture right at sunrise, then on to Crescent Bar.

More dirt roads in the afternoon.

This was shot from the dashboard of the car as we were moving along.
                                                       A little Monet-ish, don't you think?
